Wow, what a shoot!
The fire alarm in the studio went off (twice), the model had purple nostrils and red hair, the Junior Beauty Editor inhaled a whole lung-full of (non-toxic) coloured smoke and the amazing glam squad was fanning away orange dust, to make sure the Valentino gown wouldn’t get stained – all the while, Elisabeth Hoff took (literally) breathtaking images for our “Flower Bomb” story.
So you can get an idea, here is a little peek of the behind the scenes from yesterday’s shoot:
Going through the mood board
Looking super serious while discussing the 5 different looks for our shoot – (from left to right) Photographer and Founder of MINMAX Beauty Elisabeth Hoff, Junior Beauty Editor Maxi Irthum, Make-up Artist Mary Wiles, Hairstylist Kim Roy and Manicurist Chisato Yamamoto.
On to the next look. Taking off the purple make-up to prepare for the next blue shimmery eyeshadow. Mary Wiles knows what she is doing – a pro through and through!
Crimp, crimp, crimp
As mentioned before, crimped hair is back so Kim Roy unpacked her hot irons and went to work on our beautiful model Lily Walker from M&P Models.
Chisato Yamamoto, the talented manicurist on our shoot created intricate designs on Lily’s nails using muted pastel which she matched perfectly to the flowers in each shot.
Well not really. This construction made out of plastic tubes, tons of tape and a bucket was made to direct the smoke through the flowers placed around our lovely model … which sometimes worked and sometimes basically exploded and and turned the room into a foggy forest on drugs. But hey, it’s the end result that counts, and everybody on set fell in love with the outcome.
So get ready ...
