The master of modern hair, gives us 'tool advice'
Are you looking for new hair tools, but are not quite sure where to start? We had the same problem and asked George Northwood, the IT-hairdresser of the moment, creator of those perfectly messy waves on famous heads such as Alexa Chung and Rosie Whiteley-Huntoington.
Keep reading to find out what secret weapons George uses on a daily.
3000 Hair Dryer - by Parlux
Who says you need to spend a fortune on a quality hairdryer? George’s favourite is this powerful model by Parlux. With it’s rubberised coating it doesn’t slip out of sweaty hands, the professional 3 metre long cord is great if you mirror isn’t next to a plug, and the 1810 watt powered motor will have your hair dry and pretty in no time.
Classic Curl Tong - by GHD Curve
This is a staple in George’s salon and creates the famous messy waves. The 26 mm barrel, works great on long and shorter hair, has a cool tip (no burned fingers here), a safety stand (no burned vanity desks either), a ceramic coating – for smooth, shiny curls. Win, win, win!
Bristle/Nylon Brush - by Mason Pearson
Many professional hair stylist have this brush in their kits and literally call it ‘magical’! George himself is a converted Mason-Pearson-fan as well and recommends using this hair tool to brush out curls for a more laid-back style. Yes this is a splurgy purchase, but it apparently lasts a lifetime and means you get to create…magic!
